QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.A. Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- Four years of responsible secretarial experience involving the use of word processing and record-keeping software
- Ability to read and follow written directions
- Ability to organize, plan and implement programs or activities related to employment and benefits
- Skills in basic mathematics, computer operation and software programs
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated competence in correspondence and respect for confidentiality
- Prior experience or education that indicates an ability to handle pressure and deal with changing tasks and time schedule
- Demonstrated ability to relate to and work effectively with staff and community
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
JOB GOAL: To manage human resource department, including personnel, insurance, and payroll
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to follow written statutes, policies, procedures and directions related to job responsibilities
- Complete payroll for employees, along with benefit processing
- Coordinate insurance benefits, along with retirement and supplemental policies for all employees
- Compose written correspondence as directed by Superintendent
- Perform typing, filing, dictation and information dissemination responsibilities
- Compile requested reports regarding district personnel
- Assist in the planning and coordination of special events
- Coordinate the purchasing and accounting procedures for the Department of Human Resources Services
- Assist with preparation of Board meeting
- Conduct salary surveys and benefit analysis
- Conduct job analysis on new and changing positions
- Communicate human resource services information to employees and applicants
- Prepare Professional Staff Data (PSD) forms for submission to the State Department of Education
- Prepare Classified Staff Data (CLS) information for submission to the State Department of Education
- Conduct audits of employee records to ensure compliance with State and Federal laws
- Hold orientation for new employees
- Coordinate special projects and assignments with Human Resource team
- Prepare written personnel actions and recommendations to the Superintendent for Board of Education meetings
- Prepare, disseminate, and process Letters of Intent, Letters of Reasonable Assurance
- Maintain support service appeals process
- Perform other related duties as assigned as by the supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- 7.5 hours per day
- 12 months
- Salary based on approved salary schedule
EVALUATON:
Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of board policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel
