QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. B.A. Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  2. Four years of responsible secretarial experience involving the use of word processing and record-keeping software
  3. Ability to read and follow written directions
  4. Ability to organize, plan and implement programs or activities related to employment and benefits
  5. Skills in basic mathematics, computer operation and software programs
  6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  7. Demonstrated competence in correspondence and respect for confidentiality
  8. Prior experience or education that indicates an ability to handle pressure and deal with changing tasks and time schedule
  9. Demonstrated ability to relate to and work effectively with staff and community

 

REPORTS TO: Superintendent

 

JOB GOAL: To manage human resource department, including personnel, insurance, and payroll

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Able to follow written statutes, policies, procedures and directions related to job responsibilities
  2. Complete payroll for employees, along with benefit processing
  3. Coordinate insurance benefits, along with retirement and supplemental policies for all employees
  4. Compose written correspondence as directed by Superintendent
  5. Perform typing, filing, dictation and information dissemination responsibilities
  6. Compile requested reports regarding district personnel
  7. Assist in the planning and coordination of special events
  8. Coordinate the purchasing and accounting procedures for the Department of Human Resources Services
  9. Assist with preparation of Board meeting
  10. Conduct salary surveys and benefit analysis
  11. Conduct job analysis on new and changing positions
  12. Communicate human resource services information to employees and applicants
  13. Prepare Professional Staff Data (PSD) forms for submission to the State Department of Education
  14. Prepare Classified Staff Data (CLS) information for submission to the State Department of Education
  15. Conduct audits of employee records to ensure compliance with State and Federal laws
  16. Hold orientation for new employees
  17. Coordinate special projects and assignments with Human Resource team
  18. Prepare written personnel actions and recommendations to the Superintendent for Board of Education meetings
  19. Prepare, disseminate, and process Letters of Intent, Letters of Reasonable Assurance
  20. Maintain support service appeals process
  21. Perform other related duties as assigned as by the supervisor

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • 7.5 hours per day
  • 12 months
  • Salary based on approved salary schedule

 

EVALUATON:

Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of board policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel
